ACCESS YOUR INNER SELF
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
A transformative, evidence-based approach to healing that views the mind as a system of "parts," each with its own story, role, and wisdom.
THE PHILOSOPHY
All parts are welcome.
IFS is based on the premise that there are no "bad" parts of you—only parts that have taken on extreme roles to protect you from pain. By identifying these internal roles (like the Inner Critic or the People Pleaser), we can move toward a state of "Self-Leadership," where your core essence leads your life with calm, clarity, and compassion.
01.
Separation
We learn to "unblend" from overwhelming emotions, creating enough space to observe your parts without being consumed by them.
02.
Curiosity
Instead of fighting against your behaviors, we approach them with curiosity to understand the protective intent behind them.
03.
Integration
We work to heal "exiled" wounds from the past, allowing your system to return to a state of internal harmony and balance.
IN SESSION
What IFS sessions are like
/ INTERNAL EXPLORATION
Unlike talk therapy that focuses on external events, IFS sessions involve looking inward. We often use "eyes-closed" or mindful visualization to connect directly with the parts of you that need attention.
/ COMPASSIONATE INQUIRY
We don't try to "fix" or "get rid of" your symptoms. Instead, we ask your parts what they are afraid would happen if they stopped doing their job, uncovering the deep roots of your anxiety or trauma.
/ THE CORE SELF
Every person has a "Self"—an undamaged core characterized by the 8 C's: Calm, Curiosity, Compassion, Confidence, Courage, Clarity, Connectedness, and Creativity. Our goal is to bring this Self to the forefront.
WHO IFS HELPS
Support for trauma, anxiety, and more.
Individuals with complex trauma or "unresolved" childhood wounds
People struggling with a harsh "Inner Critic" or chronic shame
Those feeling "conflicted" (e.g., "A part of me wants this, but another part is terrified.")
Individuals dealing with addictive behaviors or eating disorders
Those who find traditional talk therapy feels "too surface level"
Anyone seeking a deeply compassionate way to understand their own mind
“I spent years trying to suppress my anger. Through IFS, I realized that my anger was actually a fierce protector of my younger self. Once I listened to it, it finally didn't have to scream anymore.”
